Elite Runners Race Management offers two types of timing services for road racing and trail racing: Chip Timing and Pull-Tag Timing.

ERRM recommends chip timing for the majority of events due to the participant “net time” feature, enabling fast results processing and state of the art features that can only be achieved via this method.

Our chip timing option features ChronoTrack® equipment, the industry leader in timing for endurance events. The chip timing option allows for the use of ChronoTrack® Live, enabling features such as online registration, on-site registration, dynamic race check-in, online real-time results, mobile results, mobile and social media athlete updates, athlete digital photography and athlete video.

The timing utilizes RFID technology as well as disposable timing tags reducing the need for volunteer collection at the finish line. We recommend this service for any event with greater than 250 participants or those wanting to utilize the ChronoTrack® Live services.

With pull-tag timing, participants still receive a manually electronic recorded time, however they will not receive an external timing chip. In this method, the time for all participants begins when the race starts, not when they cross the start line, thus not giving the participants their “net time” but rather a “gun time”. Results do take longer to be processed and additional volunteers are needed at the finish line, however, this is generally a less expensive option. We recommend this service to events with under 250 participants.
